Early replacement
Grit embedded in the pile cuts the fibres every time someone walks over it. Carpet that is only ever vacuumed wears out years before it needs to.
Commercial Carpet Cleaning
Carpet is usually the largest single surface in a building and the first one to show neglect. Grey traffic lanes in a corridor, a stained meeting room or a tired stair runner tell visitors, residents and tenants that the rest of the building is not being looked after either. We clean commercial carpet properly, priced from a free site visit so the quote reflects the fibre, the footfall and the condition rather than a figure per room given over the phone.
Free site visit, tailored quote, no obligation: insurance held and quality-checked before we leave.

Overview
Commercial carpet cleaning, carried out by steam cleaning on request, is the deeper treatment of carpeted floors that a daily vacuum cannot reach. Vacuuming lifts loose surface dirt, but grit, oils and spills work their way down into the pile and the backing over weeks and months. That embedded soil is what turns a carpet grey along the walkways, flattens the fibres and holds onto smells. A proper clean removes it, rather than simply making the surface look tidier for a day or two.
We clean carpet across the types of building we already look after in Central London: offices and Grade A headquarters, hotel corridors and public areas, the communal hallways and stairs of apartment blocks, members' clubs, retail floors and properties between tenancies. It can be booked as a one-off deep clean, added to an existing cleaning contract, or scheduled at regular intervals so the carpet never reaches the point where it needs replacing early.
The case for doing it is mostly financial. Commercial carpet is expensive to replace and disruptive to refit, and most carpet is replaced because it looks worn rather than because it has physically failed. Regular, correct cleaning keeps the fibres standing, the colour even and the building presentable for longer, which pushes that replacement cost further into the future.
The Cost of Leaving It
Dirty carpet rarely causes a single dramatic problem. It causes a slow, steady drop in how a building is judged, and it shortens the life of an expensive surface without anyone noticing until it is too late.
Grit embedded in the pile cuts the fibres every time someone walks over it. Carpet that is only ever vacuumed wears out years before it needs to.
Stained stairs or grey corridors undermine everything else. Residents question the service charge and visitors question the business.
Spills and everyday soiling that sit in the backing hold onto odours that air freshener only masks for a few hours.
In rented property, carpet condition is one of the most disputed items on a check-out report, and a marked carpet makes a property harder to let.
Our Process
Every job starts with seeing the carpet, because fibre, footfall and condition decide the method, the time needed and the price.
We look at the carpet in person, note the fibre type, the heavy-traffic areas and any problem stains, and agree access and timing with you.
You receive a quote based on what we have actually seen, with no obligation and no pressure if we are not the right fit.
On the day, the area is thoroughly vacuumed first so loose grit is removed before any wet cleaning, and furniture is moved where agreed.
Traffic lanes and marks are pre-treated, then the carpet is steam cleaned with care suited to the fibre, taking care not to over-wet it.
The pile is groomed, the area is checked before we leave, and anything short of the standard is corrected there and then.
Benefits
The visible result is a cleaner floor. The real value is in how long the carpet lasts and how the building is perceived in the meantime.
Removing embedded grit protects the fibres, delaying the cost and disruption of replacement.
Traffic lanes and dull patches lifted so the whole floor looks consistent again.
Soiling removed at the source rather than masked, with a complimentary air freshener as standard.
Visits arranged around your hours, seven days a week, with out-of-hours working where required.
The same vetted, insured company that cleans the rest of your building, rather than another contractor to manage.
Used as standard, with no compromise on the finish.
In Detail
Commercial carpet is not the same as a living room rug. It takes more footfall, it is laid in larger areas and it often has to be back in use within hours. These are the details that separate a carpet clean that lasts from one that looks good for a week.
Commercial buildings use a mix of carpet: hard-wearing synthetic carpet tiles in open-plan offices, wool or wool-blend broadloom in hotel corridors and members' clubs, and patterned stair runners in period residential blocks. Each one responds differently to water, heat and cleaning chemistry. Wool, for example, needs gentler treatment than most synthetics and is more prone to shrinking or browning if handled badly.
That is why we look at the carpet before we quote. Identifying the fibre and its condition at the site visit means the method is chosen for the floor, not the other way round, and it removes the risk of a cleaning approach that suits one carpet damaging another.
In every building, the wear is concentrated. Main entrances, the routes to lifts and kitchens, the space in front of reception and the treads of stairs carry most of the footfall, and they show it first. These areas are pre-treated and given extra attention so the floor comes back to an even finish rather than a clean border around a still-grey walkway.
In apartment blocks and period buildings around Central London, stair carpets are a particular problem: narrow staircases funnel every resident onto the same treads, and grit collects at the nosings where it does the most damage. Regular cleaning of stair carpet is one of the most cost-effective ways to keep communal areas looking well kept.
For most commercial clients, the question is not just whether the carpet will be clean but when the space can be used again. Over-wetting is the most common cause of long drying times, lingering damp smells and tide marks. We take care to control the amount of moisture used, and we plan visits so that carpet has time to dry before people return, using evenings, weekends or out-of-hours slots where the site needs it.
When we visit, we agree beforehand which areas will be out of use and for how long, so there are no surprises for staff, residents or guests.
Coffee, food, drinks and general soiling are the stains we see most in offices and hospitality. Spots are treated individually before the main clean, working inward from the edge so they are lifted rather than spread. Some stains, particularly old ones or those that have been treated with the wrong product, may not come out fully, and we will tell you honestly at the site visit what is realistic rather than promise a result we cannot guarantee.
Carpet cleaning can be booked in whichever way suits the building. A one-off deep clean suits a property between tenancies or a space being prepared for an inspection or event. Clients on an existing Vonula contract can add carpet cleaning to their scope so it is handled by the same team. And for busy buildings, a scheduled clean at regular intervals keeps carpet consistently presentable and stops it ever reaching the point of looking worn.
If carpet cleaning is part of a wider requirement, it sits naturally alongside our office cleaning, communal area cleaning, hotel cleaning and end of tenancy cleans.
